The Door to Salvation" (Part 2)
The Great Bible Study - Nov 7, 2019
Acts 11:21-22 - And the hand of the Lord was with them:
and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the
church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth
Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God,
was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of
heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
1 Cor 11:1 - Be ye followers of me,
even as I also am of Christ.
Acts 11:24-26 - For he was a good man, and full of the
Holy Ghost and of faith:
and much people was added unto the Lord.
Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch.
And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled
themselves with the church, and taught much people.
And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
John 17:16 - They are not of the world,
even as I am not of the world.
1 Peter 4:1 - Forasmuch then as
Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh,
arm yourselves likewise with the same mind:
for he that hath suffered in the flesh
hath ceased from sin
Matt 26:35 - Peter said unto him,
Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee.
Likewise also said all the disciples.
Matt 26:34 - Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
that this night, before the cock crow,
thou shalt deny me thrice.
Luke 12:48 But he that knew not, and did commit
things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be
much required: and to whom men have committed
much, of him they will ask the more.
Gen 2:24 - Therefore shall a man leave
his father and his mother, and shall cleave
unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Mark 10:17-24 - And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Luke 9:62 - And Jesus said unto him, No man,
having put his hand to the plow,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Rom 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
1 John 4:19 - We love him, because he first loved us.
John 13:34 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Rom 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1 Peter 1:16 - Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
1 Peter 4:1-2 - Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1 Peter 4:14-18 - If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Rev 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
